QUICKIE VERSION HEALING SOUP

There are times that a "soup day" sure would be nice, but time does not allow for the process above. I have been caught without my healing soup, and NEEDED it, when feeling 'off' or like a viral something was hovering around the periphery of my day....SO...to paraphrase the ol' saying about "necessity and making things happen…."  This version takes about an hour.. and it's ready to HEAL!!! I always have these ingredients in my pantry, and especially from November to March (well, I do live in Toronto!) It's not the same, but it's extremely effective in 'a pinch'.

Ingredients

  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Ginger root
  • Horseradish if not whole root, prepared pure, in jar
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Hot pepper flakes
  • Bone Broth or Vegetable or Chicken stock

Instructions

  1. Just chop up the onions and garlic.
  2. Add to a pot with a little olive oil. Save most of the garlic until later.
  3. Grate ginger & Horseradish if using fresh and add to pot.
  4. Otherwise, use good quality versions in glass jars.
  5. Add the stock and combine all the ingredients in pot.
  6. Simmer. Add the remaining garlic at the end.....
  7. Add any of the 'additional ideas' above.
  8. Enjoy.

Recipe Notes

AND… if no fresh horseradish in the vicinity, the version in the jar IS an alternative.. Warming for the chest, lungs + respiratory system.
