But today.. : Here's two recipes ~~ for truly winning + EASY to make decadent hot weather treat!
It's PEACH SANGRIA with BASIL !!
Have you tried peaches and basil together? Let's go a step farther and throw them into some wine!! Chilled white Pinot Grigio and peaches !
Here's a festive way to enjoy peaches + herbs + wine!
I've also made a version of this without wine, using apple juice and sparkling/fizzy water.
PEACH SANGRIA with Basil - 2 recipes
Peach Sangria with Fresh Peaches + Basil
Peach Sangria with fresh peaches + basil
Ingredients
- 1 bottle white wine a pinot grigio, chenin blanc, or similar
- 1 cup Grand Marnier
- 3-4 peaches sliced
- 1 lemon or lime sliced
- Handful of mint and/or basil
- optional: grated ginger or orange or lemon
Instructions

Mix + serve as is or add to sparkling water
AND Peach Sangria with Basil (year 'round version!)
Make this one all year 'round -- with peach nectar!!
Peach Sangria with Basil
Ingredients
- ¾ cup sugar organic if possible
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 3 ½ cups peach nectar
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- 750 ml white wine Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc
- or substitute your favourite red wine --
Instructions

In a small pot, combine the sugar, basil leaves, and half of the peach nectar and lemon juice.

On low heat, use the back of a spoon to bruise the basil leaves.

Simmer for a 2-3 minutes or until sugar is melted into the mixture.

Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
Recipe Notes
Fill a pitcher with ice cubes. Strain the mixture into the pitcher.
Add the wine and remaining peach nectar.
