Use this easy guide to make unlimited combinations of refreshing teas! This recipe makes: 1 litre (4 cups)

Ingredients

  • 2 –4 tablespoons dried herbs or ½–1 cup fresh herbs
  • 4 cups water
  • honey maple syrup, or other sweetener (optional)
  • sliced citrus berries, cucumber, fresh herbs, or edible flowers for garnish (optional)
  • Bring the water to a boil.

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. Place the herbs in a teapot, heatproof jar, or French press.
  3. Pour the boiling water over the herbs and cover.
  4. Allow to steep for 15–30 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
  5. Strain out the herbs.
  6. If using a sweetener, stir it into the warm tea until dissolved.
  7. Add any desired extras such as citrus slices, berries, fresh herbs, or edible flowers.
  8. Allow the tea to cool, then refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
  9. Serve over ice and garnish as desired.

Recipe Notes

For the most flavourful iced tea, make the infusion slightly stronger than you would for a hot tea. The ice will dilute the tea as it melts, creating a perfectly balanced drink.
