1 cupcoconut milk or oat, almond or your favourite
1teaspoonturmeric powderuse anywhere from ½ teaspoon to 2 teaspoons.. your choice/taste
½teaspooncinnamon powder
⅛teaspoonnutmeggrated fresh if possible
⅛teaspoonfresh black pepperor about 3 'grinds' in your grinder
optional add-ons:
Dash of cayenne pepper
raw honey or maple syrup to taste
½teaspoonof coconut oil or ghee
2star anise
2-3cardamom pods
Instructions
Combine all ingredients (except honey if using) in a medium sized pot and, warm up slowly, stirring often.
Allow to come to a simmer.
Pour into a mug + top with a little more grated nutmeg or a sprinkle of cinnamon if you like!
Froth it up a little with a fork or if you have a little frothy gizmo!
Notes
I like pour coconut milk into a small bowl + mix well as often the milk/cream often separate in the can. Do heat the mixture slowly so that the coconut milk doesn't thicken up too much.Make the basic recipe or use these optional add-ons, above. Any of these are delicious. Experiment or pick your own options.
