Herbal Iced Tea Recipes - Easy Template
Ingredients
- 2 –4 tablespoons dried herbs or ½–1 cup fresh herbs
- 4 cups water
- honey maple syrup, or other sweetener (optional)
- sliced citrus berries, cucumber, fresh herbs, or edible flowers for garnish (optional)
- Bring the water to a boil.
Instructions

Bring the water to a boil.

Place the herbs in a teapot, heatproof jar, or French press.

Pour the boiling water over the herbs and cover.

Allow to steep for 15–30 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

Strain out the herbs.

If using a sweetener, stir it into the warm tea until dissolved.

Add any desired extras such as citrus slices, berries, fresh herbs, or edible flowers.

Allow the tea to cool, then refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.

Recipe Notes

These recipes are designed for a 1-litre (4-cup) pitcher and can easily be doubled for gatherings. Sweeten to taste with honey, maple syrup, or leave unsweetened.
For the most vibrant herbal iced teas, brew them slightly stronger than you would for hot tea. Ice naturally dilutes flavour, and a concentrated infusion ensures your tea remains rich, aromatic, and refreshing right to the last sip. Fresh garnishes such as mint, lemon balm, rose petals, berries, citrus slices, and edible flowers can transform a simple iced tea into a beautiful seasonal beverage worthy of any summer gathering. 🌿
1. Ruby Red Hibiscus Iced Tea
A tart, jewel-toned summer classic. I make this one just like this or another version with a few more herbal friends. Check it out here.
- ¼ cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 4 cups boiling water
- 1–2 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 sliced orange
- Place hibiscus in a heatproof jar or teapot.
- Pour boiling water over the herbs.
- Steep 20–30 minutes.
- Strain and stir in sweetener while warm.
- Add orange slices.
- Chill thoroughly and serve over
2. Lemon Balm & Mint Cooler
Cooling, uplifting, and family-friendly. A fave with kids!
- ½ cup fresh lemon balm leaves
- ¼ cup fresh peppermint leaves
- 4 cups boiling water
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Honey to taste
- Place herbs in a pitcher.
- Pour boiling water over them.
- Cover and steep 20 minutes.
- Strain.
- Add lemon juice and honey.
- Chill and serve over ice.
3. Linden Blossom Summer Tea
A gentle, floral tea perfect for hot afternoons.
- 2 tablespoon dried linden flowers
- 1 tablespoon chamomile
- 4 cups boiling water
- Honey if desired
- Combine herbs in a teapot.
- Pour over boiling water.
- Steep 15–20 minutes.
- Strain and cool.
- Refrigerate until cold.
- Serve over ice.

4. Strawberry Basil Iced Tea
Fresh and fragrant. Why not add some seasonal fruit to your tea? Try this and experiment!
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoon dried lemon verbena
- 4 cups boiling water
- Pour boiling water over lemon verbena.
- Steep 15 minutes and strain.
- Add strawberries and basil.
- Refrigerate 2–4 hours.
- Lightly mash fruit before serving.
- Pour over ice.
5. Peach Rosemary Sun Tea
A lovely garden-inspired blend. Experiment with fruits and herbs together!
- 2 peaches, sliced
- 2 small rosemary sprigs
- 4 cups water
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- Combine all ingredients in a glass jar.
- Place in the sun for 3–4 hours.
- Strain.
- Refrigerate until cold.
- Serve over ice.
6. Herbal Iced Tea with Lavender + Lemon
Elegant and refreshing. Anyone will tell you that lemon balm is my own fave herb. I love to add 'her' into many blends.
- 1 teaspoon dried lavender
- 2 tablespoon lemon balm
- 4 cups boiling water
- Juice of 2 lemons
- Honey to taste
- Steep herbs in boiling water for 15 minutes.
- Strain.
- Stir in lemon juice and honey.
- Chill completely.
- Serve over ice with lemon slices.

7. Rose & Raspberry Cooler
Beautiful for gatherings and women’s circles. Yes.. We make rose tea and it's a special one!
- 2 tablespoon dried rose petals
- ½ cup raspberries
- 4 cups boiling water
- Honey if desired
- Pour boiling water over rose petals.
- Steep 20 minutes.
- Strain.
- Add raspberries and gently muddle.
- Refrigerate for several hours.
- Serve over ice.
8. Lemon Verbena Citrus Iced Tea
Bright, lemony, and wonderfully aromatic.
- 3 tablespoon dried lemon verbena
- 4 cups boiling water
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Steep lemon verbena in boiling water for 15 minutes.
- Strain.
- Add citrus slices.
- Chill thoroughly.
- Serve over ice.
9. Tulsi & Ginger Refresh Tea ~ my newest favourite herbal iced tea recipe
A warming-cooling paradox that is deeply refreshing. So good. and GOOD for us !!
- 2 tablespoon dried tulsi
- 1-inch fresh ginger, sliced
- 4 cups boiling water
- Juice of ½ lime
- Combine tulsi and ginger.
- Pour over boiling water.
- Steep 20 minutes.
- Strain.
- Add lime juice.
- Chill and serve over ice.

10. Spearmint Watermelon Refresher
Get very playful with this one! A favourite for hot summer days. SO GOOD! This one is inspired by one of my "go to" summer desserts. Read more here..
- 2 cups watermelon, cubed
- ¼ cup fresh spearmint
- 4 cups cooled herbal tea (such as lemon balm or hibiscus)
- Place watermelon and mint in a pitcher.
- Lightly crush with a spoon.
- Pour in cooled herbal tea.
- Refrigerate 1–2 hours.
- Strain if desired.
- Serve over plenty of ice.
